About Jane Powell

Uni Panel was founded by Jane Powell following the closure of Shift Insight, the specialist higher education and research consultancy she established and led for more than 25 years.

During that time, Jane worked with universities, publishers, funders, charities, membership organisations and commercial organisations across the higher education and research landscape. Research involving the panel contributed to work for organisations including Wellcome, UKRI, Cambridge University Press, Springer Nature, Crossref, the Office for Students, UKGCE, MI Talent and many others.

Uni Panel was created to ensure that this long-established research community remained available to support future research across higher education, research and scholarly communications.
